LOEWE beyond the front view: choosing between Coil, Anagram, Slim and Curvy

Some sunglasses are recognisable from the front. With LOEWE, the side can be just as revealing. A curve that continues into the temple, a piece of coiling hardware or a gold Anagram changes the character of the frame before you even look at the name.

That makes Coil, Anagram, Slim and Curvy an interesting comparison. These are not four colours of the same design. They offer different proportions, different side details and different ways to make sunglasses part of an outfit.

Coil: remember to open the side view

The Coil LW40204I 25E uses white acetate. Against dark clothing, that colour gives the frame an immediate presence. If you tend to wear pale shirts or softer colours, it is worth thinking about how the same frame would look with those, too.

Its more distinctive feature sits at the side. LOEWE describes the Coil family's coiling hardware as inspired by the house's archive. A front photograph can make the frame look much simpler than it does in profile. If the side detail is what attracts you, give that view as much attention as the main product image.

This reference measures 53–19, with 140 mm temples. Those numbers describe lens width, bridge and temple length; they do not give you the complete width of the front. Use them as a starting point alongside a comfortable pair you already own.

Anagram: round lenses, grey acetate and a signature at the temple

The Anagram LW40206I 20V combines a round front with shiny grey acetate, uniform blue lenses and a gold Anagram on both temples. Compared with Coil, the design spreads its visual interest across several elements.

That suggests a useful question when choosing between them. Do you want the frame colour to be the first thing someone notices, or do you prefer the shape and lens colour to share the attention? It is more helpful than deciding that one must be right for a particular face shape. You are choosing a design you want to wear, not filling in a category.

Anagram measures 54–21, with 140 mm temples. The bridge number is larger than Coil's, but the feel depends on its shape and where it touches your nose. Similar-looking measurements can produce different fits.

Slim and Curvy: look at the whole silhouette

The brown Slim LW40185I 50E measures 50–18. The Curvy LW40088U 93A pairs shiny transparent green with grey lenses and measures 47–20. Their colours offer a different direction from white Coil and grey Anagram, while their proportions give you another useful point of comparison.

A smaller lens-width figure can help if you want less coverage around the eyes. It is not a guarantee of a smaller overall fit. The bridge, the thickness of the rim and the outer edges all contribute to the final size. Compare the complete front, then open the profile photograph to understand the depth of the design.

Before you choose, borrow a little information from your current pair

Take a frame you enjoy wearing and check the numbers inside the temple. Then describe what you would change about it. Perhaps it slips when you look down, perhaps the side is too prominent, or perhaps you would simply like a different amount of coverage. Those details help us understand what you are looking for.

Colour deserves the same practical approach. Think of the clothing you wear most often rather than an outfit you might wear once.
