Identify each field and share your prescription without changing its values. This introductory guide does not replace an eye examination or your optician’s interpretation.

OD / R means right eye; OI / OS / L means left eye. Read them from the wearer’s perspective.
Sphere
The spherical lens power, in dioptres. A minus sign usually relates to short-sightedness and a plus sign to long-sightedness. Always keep the sign shown on your prescription.
Cylinder
The prescribed cylindrical power for astigmatism correction. Do not treat an empty field as a diagnosis or add values yourself.
Axis
The direction of the cylindrical correction, in degrees. Copy it with the corresponding cylinder value, without rounding or swapping eyes.
Addition
The extra power prescribed for near vision. Enter it only when it appears on your prescription, exactly as specified for each eye.
Pupillary distance
The separation between the pupils, in millimetres. This fitting measurement may not appear on your prescription. If it is missing, ask the optical team; do not estimate it from this example.

- Check the + and − signs and match each value to the correct eye.
- Do not convert, average or fill in a field you do not understand.
- If you see prism or a special note, send the prescription to the optical team for individual review.

Questions about your prescription.
What does Plano or PL mean?
It indicates a spherical power of 0.00. Other values, such as cylinder, may still be present. If the notation is unclear, send us the document before completing the assistant.
What if values are missing or my prescription is from another country?
Do not assume equivalents or fill in gaps. Share the complete prescription so our team can check its format and the information needed.
Can I use my contact lens prescription?
Do not use it in place of a glasses prescription. If you only have a contact lens prescription, ask the optical team before ordering lenses for a frame.
